SNAKE ALLEY TRAIL
We will walk to the start of the hike which is approximately 2.5km from the gate. The initial walk is on a straight wide dirt road and an easy walk.
Once at the start of the hike we cross the Berg River bridge and make our way along the bottom of the mountain straddling the river. After crossing a small stream, we ascend to the first contour line and make our way back towards the bridge along the windy dirt track from where the trail gets its name. We eventually meet up with the concrete road and make our way down to the bridge and walk back to the gate.
The distance from the gate and back is 12km. This is an easy hike suitable for all fitness levels.

FAN ALOE TRAIL SUNSET HIKE
We start the trail at the wine tasting centre and hike out back into the Wemmershoek Mountains, along paths trodden by baboons for centuries. We climb the koppies to experience the spectacular views of the Simonsberg Mountains and surrounds.
We are treated to a wonderful display of the regionally endemic Fan Aloe (Franschhoek Aloe) and the beautiful and very rare Blushing Bride Protea amongst many other gorgeous Fynbos plants.
The view is stunning from up there and we have cleared a seating area where we will sip some wine while watching the sun start to set. But don’t worry, we will be down before it gets dark! A fabulous way to end the day.
Departs Daily at 8am or 3:30pm
Scheduled Pickups Available upon Request.
