The Franschhoek Valley is nestled between beautiful, dramatic mountains.

It’s the first thing you notice as you come into our valley!  Beautiful, majestic mountains!  It is the one thing all our visitors agree on.  Wine tastes may differ but the mountains have a tremendous impact on everyone.  Our Guided Berg River Dam Cons Area Hikes show off their splendor at its best.

From a relatively easy 2 hour ramble to more strenuous hikes, we have a trail to suit all abilities and fitness levels in the Berg River Conservation Area.  Wonderful views, beautiful Fynbos (the smallest and most diverse Floral Kingdom in the world) and endemic bird life are all waiting to be enjoyed.

Your experienced guide will show you the way, point out animal tracks in the soft sandy areas, give you a brief history of the valley, identify birds and flowers as they are seen and on cold days, a mid-way stop for coffee is always enjoyed.
