Franschhoek Historical Village Walk
Get a bit of morning exercise by joining our daily morning walks through the village.
Enjoy a quick introduction to our popular villge history walk
Franschhoek was established in the late 1600’s and is steeped in history, some of it no so savoury but history is history and should never be hidden. Our Franschhoek Historical Village Walk will tell you all about it. Who first lived here and which iconic animal did they share the valley with? What was the village’s role at the beginning of the Apartheid era? Why don’t we speak French in our “French Corner”? All these questions and more answered.
Many of the houses still occupied today have been around for centuries. Learn about the people who first colonized the valley as well as about those that were originally here and see the town with a new appreciation. Easy, non-strenuous walking.
